THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU has become one of the most closely watched theatrical releases of the year, carrying the burden of reviving the STAR WARS franchise at the box office after years of uneven performances and streaming overexposure. Early reaction to the film appears positive, with Disney showing the opening 17 minutes of the movie for theatre owners at this year’s CinemaCon conference in early April. Many described it as refreshingly action-oriented, marking a return to the franchise’s roots.
