Treasure Trekkers is a 2026 animated family adventure directed by Kevin Munroe, who wrote the screenplay with Gerry Swallow from a story by J.S. Friedman, adapting Friedman's children's book series Maurice's Valises. Mip (Greg Cipes), a twelve year old adopted monkey living among cats and rodents, is sent by a magical map to the distant land of Empathra and sets out on a dangerous search for where he came from. What he finds instead is his own capacity for empathy, and a country that has forgotten it had any.
Meredith Anne Bull voices Mac, with Alan Cumming as King Clarence, John DiMaggio as Rhinestone Rhino, Tara Strong as Mo, and Jack McBrayer, Scott Cleverdon and Wyatt Bowen also in the cast. Friedman produced, with Arnar Gunnarsson executive producing, and animation came from Squeeze Studio Animation and B Water Animation Studios. Viva Pictures released it through its Viva Kids label on 9 October 2026, rated PG for some thematic elements, rude humour and action. The runtime is 90 minutes.
For younger audiences and families who want an adventure built around feeling rather than fighting.
