April X (2026) is a dystopian science fiction thriller directed by Michel K. Parandi, who wrote it with Jack Coulton. Baxter (Connor Storrie) is an overconfident hustler surviving on the fringes of a neon post-Soviet near-future city by fencing synthetic organs on the black market, and his twin sister April (Lilly Krug) has a neurological gift that lets her record and archive her dreams onto discs. When a synthetic heart Bax sold kills its recipient and the wrong people start taking an interest in April's neural data, she vanishes. Bax searches the metropolitan underground for her through a maze of cloned lookalikes and surveillance drones, descending into madness as he goes.
Tudor Chirilă plays Tetris and Șerban Pavlu plays Klein. Memory, identity, female autonomy and exploitation are the concerns, told in a cyberpunk register with the paranoid grit of classic French crime cinema.
Lavinia Postolache produced with Parandi for Lavi Star and Redflyingfox. It opened the 34th Raindance Film Festival with a United Kingdom premiere at the Vue West End and was a New American Cinema contender at the 2026 Seattle International Film Festival.
Vertigo Releasing handled the United Kingdom and Sunrise Films the United States limited release on 2 October 2026. For cyberpunk audiences, with the caveat that reviews have been largely unkind to the screenplay.
