Tatiana Maslany (birthname: Tatiana Gabriele Maslany) is a Canadian-born actor best known for her Emmy-winning leading role in the hit BBC America series, Orphan Black (2013-2017), she made her big-screen debut in Subterranean Passage (1999) and then began to appear more regularly in features around the year of 2007 when she appeared in horror movies such as the Pang Brothers’ supernatural horror entry, The Messengers (2007), produced by Sam Raimi and starring Kristen Stewart, and also George A. Romero’s Diary of the Dead (2007), starring Michelle Morgan and released by the Weinstein Company.

Maslany co-starred a few years later in two back-to-back movies with horror specialist filmmaker Osgood Perkins: The Monkey (2025), with Theo James and Elijah Wood, and Keeper (2025), with Rossif Sutherland, both of which were released by Neon. Tatiana Maslany was born and raised in Regina, Canada, the capital of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, by parents Daniel (woodworker) and Renate Maslany (translator and interpreter). Maslany has two brothers, Michael and Daniel. Maslany was raised in German and English and took French immersion courses in elementary school, as well as performing in theater and dance. Maslany attended and graduated in 2003 from Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School, where she acted in school theater productions and improv shows while acting professionally in Canada outside of Regina.
