Danny Ramirez is an actor and aspiring filmmaker who has been working in a wide range of movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to films by Claire Denis and Todd Haynes and launched his feature career with a supporting role in director/writer Sam Levinson’s wild high school horror-comedy, Assassination Nation (2018), with Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, Abra, Colman Domingo, Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale and Bella Thorne, and released by Neon after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.
Ramirez then had a very busy year in 2019 with a host of indie movie roles including director/writer Richard Bates Jr.’s Tone-Deaf, co-starring Robert Patrick and Amanda Crew; director/writer Katharine O’Brien’s drama, Lost Transmissions, co-starring Simon Pegg, Juno Temple and Alexandra Daddario; director/writer David Raboy’s French/U.S. mystery, The Giant, starring Young; and the Marshall Burnette-directed thriller, Silo (2019).
Ramirez joined the cast of MGM/Orion Classics’ remake of Valley Girl (2020), co-starring Jessica Rothe, Josh Whitehouse, Logan Paul, and Judy Greer under Rachel Lee Goldenberg’s direction, and released simultaneously in theater and on VOD by United Artists Releasing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ramirez received his first big break with the role of “Fanboy” in the Tom Cruise-starring mega-hit sequel, Top Gun: Maverick (2022), with Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and Val Kilmer under Joseph Kosinski’s direction, and grossing an astounding $1.49 billion for Paramount Pictures.
Danny Ramirez shifted gears and joined renowned French filmmaker Claire Denis for one of her rare English-language films, the Central America-set Stars at Noon (2022), based on Denis Johnson’s 1986 novel and with Margaret Qualley, Joe Alwyn, Benny Safdie, and John C. Reilly, and which premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix. Ramirez then appeared in the cast of Root Letter, the feature film based on the best-selling video game by Kadokawa Games which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
Ramirez co-starred in director/writer Jac Cron’s drama, Chestnut (2023) which premiered at the Frameline Film Festival and was released in limited pattern by Utopia. Ramirez next co-starred in the black comedy version of the true story of court-martialed Reality Winner, Winner (2024), directed by Susanna Fogel and starring Emilia Jones, Connie Britton, Zach Galifianakis, and Kathryn Newton, and released by Vertical after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.
Danny Ramirez co-starred in his biggest role to date as Falcon opposite Anthony Mackie’s Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero in Captain America: Brave New World (2025). Ramirez joined acclaimed American indie filmmaker Todd Haynes as a co-star with Mauricio Valdelamar in the 1930s gay drama, provisionally titled the Todd Haynes/Joaquin Phoenix Film (date to be announced), co-written by Haynes, Phoenix and Jonathan Raymond, and produced by Killer Films.
Ramirez struck out on his own as star/director/writer/producer of the semi-autobiographical sports drama, Baton (date to be announced), and produced by Pinstripes/Luz Films/Studio 99.
Danny Ramirez was born and raised in Chicago and Miami by his parents. Ramirez attended and graduated from Miami Coral Park Senior High School. Ramirez studied acting and theater at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, while also launching his professional acting career. Ramirez’s height is 5’ 9”.
