The Waverly Palace Theatre is a historic movie theater and community entertainment venue located on Bremer Avenue in downtown Waverly. Originally opened in 1926 as a single-screen theater, it became an important cultural landmark for local residents, hosting movie screenings and community gatherings for decades. Over the years, the theater underwent several renovations and expansions, eventually becoming a three-screen cinema with approximately 440 seats before closing in 2018 due to declining attendance. In recent years, the building has undergone significant restoration and redevelopment efforts to revive the historic venue and bring modern cinematic amenities back to downtown Waverly. The renovated theater now features updated interiors, a remodeled lobby, and a smaller, more intimate auditorium designed for community movie nights and special events, helping reconnect residents with a classic small-town cinema experience.
