The Ford—officially known as the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre—is a historic and intimate open-air venue nestled in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. With just under 1,200 seats, no audience member is more than 96 feet from the stage, offering a uniquely close and immersive experience. Originally built in 1920 as the Pilgrimage Theatre and reconstructed in 1931, The Ford has a rich legacy of cultural performances, from classical concerts and theater to punk rock shows and global music celebrations. Now operated by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Ford presents a varied summer season of music, dance, film, and family events that reflect the vibrant communities of Los Angeles. Patrons can picnic on-site, enjoy locally curated food from Bodega or bring their own, and take in performances under the stars. Following a major $80 million renovation completed in 2017, the venue now features updated staging, lighting, and amenities while preserving its iconic architectural charm.
