The Tarrytown Music Hall, established in 1885 in Tarrytown, New York, is a historic nonprofit performing arts center and the oldest theater in Westchester County. Designed in the Queen Anne architectural style, it has hosted legends from Louis Armstrong to Norah Jones and remains one of just 6% of U.S. theaters built before 1900 still in operation. Once nearly demolished, it was saved by dedicated locals and has since flourished as a premier venue for music, theater, dance, film, and education, drawing over 100,000 annual visitors. With 843 seats, outstanding acoustics, and a varied lineup of events—from international acts to student showcases—it plays a vital role in the region’s cultural and economic life. The Music Hall also offers acclaimed arts education programs, community outreach, and has served as a filming location for major Hollywood productions. Owned and operated by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it continues to undergo restorations to preserve its legacy for future generations.
