In 1929, the 300-seat Palace Theater was the first to show “talkies” in the up-and-coming West Texas city of Spur. Restored in the 21st century thanks to generous grants and strong community support, today the Palace hosts live performances and community discussions in addition to films for all ages, in the heart of America’s First Tiny-House Friendly City. The theater boasts a vintage marquee and classic architectural details that capture the essence of old-time cinema. Though compact, the Palace Theatre has a welcoming atmosphere, providing comfortable seating and a nostalgic setting for film screenings, live performances, and community events.
