Welcome to Northern Lights Theatre Pub, Salem’s favorite spot for dinner, drinks, and a movie—all under one roof. For locals, this isn’t just a place to catch a film—it’s where you go for a laid-back night out, whether it’s date night, family time, or just treating yourself. For over two decades, this cozy, three-screen venue has brought together good food, good movies, and good company.
The story of this beloved movie theatre in Salem began in 1976 as Southgate Cinemaworld. After a brief closure in the late ’90s, it reemerged in 2004 as Northern Lights Theatre Pub—reimagined with a new concept that combined cinema with in-theater dining. Now located at 3893 Commercial Street SE, the theater offers a 300-seat setup across three screens and continues to serve as a go-to entertainment destination for Salem families, students, and film fans alike.
No frills, no pressure—just solid screens, friendly service, and a menu that goes far beyond popcorn. Whether you’re in the mood for pizza and a pint or just want to unwind with the latest comedy, Northern Lights delivers a casual, come-as-you-are vibe. Showtimes are easy to find online, and with seat-side food and drinks, you never have to miss a scene for a snack.
