New Plaza Cinema is a non-profit, independent movie theater located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at Macaulay Honors College, 35 West 67th Street. As the only independent cinema north of 14th Street in Manhattan, it is dedicated to preserving and promoting art cinema culture by showcasing independent, foreign, and classic films every weekend. In addition to in-person screenings, the cinema also offers virtual film lectures and talkbacks to foster community engagement and thoughtful conversation. Operated by a 501(c)(3) organization, New Plaza Cinema relies on the support of donors and patrons to fulfill its mission of providing quality curated film experiences to New York audiences.
