Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, located at 506 Bloor Street West in Toronto's vibrant Annex neighborhood, is a historic, century-old theater renowned for its dedication to documentary cinema. Serving as the primary venue for the annual Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, it also offers year-round screenings of Canadian and international documentaries, along with special presentations and the popular Doc Soup series. The cinema underwent significant renovations in 2012, enhancing its facilities with an expansive new screen, state-of-the-art sound system, and modern projection equipment, all while preserving its historic charm. In 2016, a generous donation from the Rogers Foundation enabled Hot Docs to purchase the theater, leading to its rebranding as Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema. Beyond film screenings, the venue hosts various cultural events and independent film festivals, maintaining its longstanding role as a community hub for arts and culture.
