Nestled just west of Detroit in Dearborn, the Ford‑Wyoming Drive‑In is a vintage, beloved drive‑in theater that first opened its gates on May 19, 1950. Over time it has grown beyond its original single screen—today it operates five screens under the starry sky. Once known for having nine, the extra screens and land have since been removed, reducing its vehicle capacity to about 2,500 cars. In operation through all seasons, the drive‑in blends nostalgia with modern convenience—offering oversize vehicle accommodations, nighttime showings into the early hours, and even heaters during cold weather months. For many in Metro Detroit, it’s more than a movie; it’s a landmark where families, friends, and film lovers pack their cars, bring blankets and snacks, and enjoy the magic of movies under wide open skies.
