Director Maria Friedman filmed the entire Tony-winning revival in only three days inside the Hudson Theatre, using 4-5 cameras per performance. She story-boarded every beat two weeks in advance because “it’s not a choreographic show—so the camera had to chase the emotion, not the scenery.
