Nico Parker is an acclaimed actor, the daughter of actor Thandiwe Newton and British filmmaker Ol Parker, who made her feature debut as Colin Farrell’s daughter in Tim Burton’s commercially failed live-action version of the Disney animated classic, Dumbo (2019), starring Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green and Alan Arkin, and grossing only $353 million against $170 million costs.
Parker appeared with her mother Newton in director/writer/producer Lisa Joy’s techno romantic thriller, Reminiscence (2021), starring Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson, Cliff Curtis, Marina de Tavira and Daniel Wu, and grossing a weak $16.4 million against an estimated $68 million budget for Warner Bros. and producers FilmNation Entertainment/Kilter Films/Michael De Luca Productions.
Parker had her breakout role as co-star of director/writer Laura Chinn’s autobiographical coming-of-age drama, Suncoast (2024), co-starring Laura Linney and Woody Harrelson, with Parker winning the Breakthrough Performance Award during the movie’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and then having a limited release by Searchlight Pictures.
Parker joined the ensemble of the long-delayed sequel, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (2025), based on co-screenwriter Helen Fielding’s novel, with Renée Zellweger, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Leo Woodall, Jim Broadbent, Isla Fisher, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant under Michael Morris’s direction, and released by Universal Pictures (international)/StudioCanal (France) to a very good $138 million global return.
Nico Parker landed a co-starring role in DreamWorks Animation’s first and highly anticipated live-action movie and remake care of creator Dean DeBlois, How to Train Your Dragon (2025), based on Cressida Cowell’s novel, and co-starring Mason Thames, Nick Frost, Gerard Butler, Bronwyn James and Harry Trevaldwyn, and released wide by Universal Pictures.
Parker was cast in a supporting role in the American comedy, Poetic License (date to be announced), written by Raffi Donatich and directed by Maude Apatow and co-starring Andrew Barth Feldman, Cooper Hoffman, Leslie Mann, and Maisy Stella, and produced by Jewelbox Pictures.
