Mallori Johnson, best known for her role in the Hulu sci-fi series based on Octavia Butler’s 1979 novel Kindred (2022), launched her big-screen career in the indie comedy, The Other Zoey (2023), co-starring Josephine Langford, Drew Starkey, Heather Graham, and Andie MacDowell under Sara Zandieh’s direction, produced by Gulfstream Pictures, and was released by Brainstorm Media. Johnson co-starred with Angourie Rice in director/producer Clement Virgo’s Canadian-Belgian drama, Steal Away (2025), with Lauren Lee Smith, Idrissa Sanogo, and Arnold Pinnock, and which was released by Elevation Pictures after premiering at the Toronto Film Festival.
Johnson joined Kara Young as co-leads of debuting director/writer Aleshea Harris’s film version of her Obie-winning 2018 play, Is God Is (2026), with Sterling K. Brown, Vivica A. Fox, Janelle Monae, Erika Alexander, and Mykelti Williamson, produced by Tessa Thompson, Janicza Bravo, Riva Marker, and Kishori Rajan, and released wide by Amazon MGM Studios.
Mallori Johnson was born and raised in San Diego by her parents. Johnson was selected for the drama program at The Juilliard School and graduated in 2021.
