Kane Parsons had made over 400 online videos between 2015 and 2020 before achieving viral status with his YouTube project, The Backrooms, 25 short videos based on the web-based horror trend called “creepypasta” (an umbrella term for any web-based horror creation) and conceived as a found-footage journey through liminal spaces suggesting a vaguely recalled 1990s. Parsons then created the mystery thriller web series, The Oldest View (2023-Present), and the digital horror series, People Still Live Here (2025-Present).
Parsons made his theatrical feature debut as director/co-composer with a full-length expansion of Backrooms (2026), starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett and Lukita Maxwell, written by Will Soodik, and which was produced (in part) by James Wan, Shawn Levy, Osgood Perkins and Peter Chernin and released wide by A24.
Kane Parsons was born and raised in the United Kingdom by his parents. Parsons currently lives in Northern California. Parsons’s height is 6’.
