The Daysland Palace Theatre, located at 5012-50 Street in Daysland, Alberta, is a historic cultural venue with a rich legacy. Established in 1952 by the Tury family, it originally showcased films like Walt Disney’s "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and operated as a family-run cinema until 1999.
In 1999, the Daysland and District Cultural Arts Society (DaysArts) acquired the theatre, transforming it into a vibrant community hub. Significant renovations have been undertaken, including the construction of a stage in 2001, the installation of a digital projector and updated audio system in 2013, and the replacement of flooring and seating by 2015.
Today, the Palace Theatre offers a diverse array of entertainment, including regular movie screenings, live theatre, concerts, and special events. It serves as a testament to community spirit, being entirely operated by volunteers dedicated to maintaining its status as a cultural cornerstone in Daysland.
