Bijou by the Bay was a 150-seat nonprofit cinema located at 181 W. Grandview Parkway in Traverse City, Michigan. Housed in the historic Con Foster Museum building, it was transformed into a state-of-the-art theater in 2013 by the Traverse City Film Festival (TCFF), led by founder Michael Moore. The theater featured murals by local artists and offered an intimate cinematic experience. However, due to technical difficulties and operational challenges, TCFF announced in November 2024 that the theater would not reopen. The organization proposed transferring stewardship of the building to the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians for use as a Native American cultural space
