Originally opened in 1948 and renovated in 2006, the historic Academy Theater lies in the heart of Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood, offering 3 screens of cinematic selections at discount ticket prices. The Academy programs a variety of “second-run” movies ranging from mainstream to independent, with “classic” repertory films, family-friendly movies and afternoon matinees showing every day. Our concessions counter serves Flying Pie pizza by the slice, along with other neighborhood food options and traditional movie theater concessions, including regional beer and wine.
