After the 2023 shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show wrote an op-ed in the New York Times calling on country music to lead America out of its relationship with guns. His friend, public radio journalist David Greene, read it. The two decided to take the conversation on the road. Director Doug Pray followed them into barbershops, barbecue joints, church pews, gun stores, and concert halls across rural and urban America, where they convened people from opposing sides of the gun debate and asked them to listen to each other. A documentary about one of America's most intractable disagreements.

Louder Than Guns (2026) is a documentary directed by Doug Pray that follows country-bluegrass musician Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show and journalist David Greene as they tour America to foster civil dialogue on gun rights and violence.
Inspired by the 2023 Covenant School shooting in Nashville, Secor's New York Times op-ed sparked the project, leading to emotional conversations in gun stores, churches, and concert halls where diverse Americans seek common ground on safer communities.
The 89-minute film uses music, including a title song written for the victims, to humanize the polarized debate, blending rural and urban perspectives through Old Crow Medicine Show performances.
