Always Lalisa is a 2026 American documentary directed by Sue Kim, following Lalisa Manobal of Blackpink through a year away from the group. The film covers her making of the solo album Alter Ego, her acting role in The White Lotus, and her preparation for her first major solo performance at Coachella, set against the pressure of establishing herself in the Western market and her own wish for privacy.
It is her first extended period apart from Blackpink since childhood. Kim produced with Courtney Crockett for Salt Water Productions, with Morgan Neville and Caitrin Rogers of Tremolo Productions among the executive producers alongside Alice Kang and Joojong Joe of Lloud Co. and executives from RCA Records and Sony Music Vision, which financed it.
The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2026. Trafalgar Releasing gave it a limited worldwide theatrical engagement from 12 October 2026 in IMAX and conventional cinemas, with same day special engagements in Australia, Mexico, Italy, Brazil and New Zealand, ahead of an exclusive YouTube Premium streaming run later in 2026.
Runtime 100 minutes. For Blackpink's audience and for viewers interested in how a solo career gets built.
