If your film has an important message for the world, this festival is for you.
All films should touch upon or cover one or more major issues faced by the planet and the people; around social, economic or environmental sustainability such as climate change, climate action, gender inequality, hunger and poverty, discrimination, poor education, mental health, disability, LGBTQIA+ and many more (not limited to).
The festival accepts features, shorts, animations, documentaries, public service announcement, CSR, charity, advertisements, social media and music videos from independent filmmakers and established production houses, across the globe. Winners are screened in London and worldwide.
BSIFF currently sits as the “Best Reviewed” festival on Film Freeway in the sustainability and social impact category. It is an IMDb registered festival.
Films from the festival have been awarded and nominated for the OSCARS, BAFTAS, EMMY awards, and vice-versa.
It is a United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) initiative that celebrates purpose-led entertainment that is driving us all towards a sustainable and responsible future. Through relatable films in all categories, the festival advocates the United Nations 17 Global Goals and celebrates the work of outstanding filmmakers.
