Tilman Singer is a German-born filmmaker who has made short films and feature films, mainly leaning toward the horror genre. Singer produced stop motion animation short films and commercials in Germany, France, and the U.S. before he began filmmaking studies at the Cologne-based audio-visual media institution, Academy of Media Arts Cologne in 2011, where he made two shorts, The Events at Mr. Yamamoto’s Alpine Residence (2014) and El fin del mundo (2016), and then his graduate thesis film (which began as a short and expanded to feature length), Luz (2018), which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and was released by Yellow Veil Pictures.
Singer was director-writer of the German/U.S. co-production, Cuckoo (2024), starring Hunter Schafer, Dan Stevens, Jan Bluthardt, Marton Csokas, and Jessica Henwick, premiering at the Berlin Film Festival and released by Neon.
