Piper Curda (birthname: Piper Joy Curda) is an actor and singer who began her career both on stage and television as a child and teen performer, ranging from Broadway national tours to several roles in Disney television shows to music singles releases. Curda’s movie debut was a co-starring role in the directors/writers/producer The Pierce Brothers’ supernatural horror movie, The Wretched (2019), with John-Paul Howard, Zarah Mahler and Kevin Bigley, launching at the Fantasia Film Festival before IFC Midnight released it during the COVID-19 pandemic on drive-in screens for a strong $4.4 million gross (based on estimated costs).
Curda landed a supporting role in director/writer/producer Connie Cocchia’s Canadian indie drama, When Time Got Louder (2022), co-starring Willow Shields, Lochlyn Munro, Elizabeth Mitchell, Jonathan Simad, and Ava Capri, produced by Cocchia Productions/Gold Productions, premiering at the Frameline Film Festival and theatrically released by Gravitas Ventures (U.S.)/levelFILM (Canada). Curda then joined the ensemble of director/co-writer/producer Chris Spencer’s Vegas-set comedy, Back on the Strip (2023), co-starring Wesley Snipes, Tiffany Haddish, JB Smoove, Gary Owen, Bill Bellamy, Spence Moore II, Raigan Harris, and Faizon Love, and distributed theatrically by GVN Releasing.
Piper Curda played the eldest daughter of the characters portrayed by Julianne Moore and Charles Melton in filmmaker Todd Haynes’s acclaimed drama, May December (2023), written by Samy Burch and with a story by Burch and Alex Mechanik (Oscar-nominated for Best Original Screenplay), co-starring Natalie Portman (who also produced), Cory Michael Smith, Elizabeth Yu, Gabriel Chung and D.W. Moffett, and which was released in limited theatrical pattern by Netflix (for a $5.3 million gross) before streaming. Curda starred in her first voice role for an animated movie as animal lover transformed into a robotic beaver in Disney/Pixar’s original comedy, Hoppers (2026), directed and co-written (with Jesse Andrews) by Daniel Chong, with the voices of Bonny Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco, Eduardo Franco, Aparna Nancherla, Sam Richardson, Melissa Villasenor, Isaiah Whitlock Jr., Steve Purcell, Ego Nwodim, Nichole Sakura, Meryl Streep and Vanessa Bayer, and which was released in wide theatrical pattern by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Curda had her first starring role in a live-action movie, topping the cast of director/writer Connor Martin’s horror comedy, The Dregs (date to be announced), co-starring Maddie Phillips, Charlie Gillespie, Fletcher Donovan, Zach Tinker, Nava Mau, Max Lloyd-Jones, and Kheon Clarke, and which was produced by Astral Plane.
Piper Curda was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and raised in Chicago, Illinois, by her parents, Stephen (U.S. Army Brigadier General) and Leslie (doctor). Curda has four siblings named Riley, Major, Glory, and Saylor, all of whom have appeared on television, in film, or in theater as actors or singers. Curda attended Wheaton College, where she earned a B.A. degree in Interpersonal Communications in 2019. Curda identifies herself on the asexual spectrum. Curda’s height is 5’ 1”.
