Matrell Smith is an American actor and multi-talented performer based in New York City, originally from Birmingham, Alabama. A graduate of Stillman College, where he earned a BA in journalism, Matrell blends his storytelling background with his passion for the performing arts.
He is a member of the cast of The Piano Lesson (2024) and has gained recognition for his role in the Netflix adaptation of this acclaimed play. Before venturing into acting, Matrell was a standout basketball player in Alabama, winning back-to-back state championships and a collegiate title.
