LaMar D. Mackey
LaMar D. Mackey was born in Buffalo, New York.
Mr. Mackey has been in the music business for 20 years. He started off as an artist performing as a singer for several male vocal groups. Through hard work and determination he was fortunate to have been offered label deals with Sony, Epic, Columbia, Elektra and Bad Boy Records. During his time at Bad Boy he had the pleasure to worked with 3 Time Grammy Award winning producer Stevie J. (Notorious B.I.G., Diddy, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and others), Jack Knight (Lil' Kim, Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Keyshia Cole, Christina Aguilera and Biggie) as well as writers Nashiem Myrick.
Dealing with the ups and downs of working in a group with other individuals eventually led Mr. Mackey to entrepreneurship and starting his own business. He developed his managerial skills operating barber shops and hair salons and supervising the day to day operations and staff. This experience showed him what his true gift and calling and it was in 2001 he started the management company "Muzic Mafia Ent." It was a great experience but after a couple of setbacks he dissolved the company taking a little time away from the entertainment business. He then opened up his own BarberShop "RazorSharp" in Buffalo, New York.
It wasn't long after this hiatus that in 2006 Mr. Mackey, being a determined and resilient individual that he is, decided to open "W.I.D.E. Open Entertainment" (Wise Individuals Doing Everything) and has not looked back. His passionate and love to help and work with artists is the driving force that gives him the drive and energy to build the company into one of the premiere Management and Entertainment firms in the business . W.I.D.E. Open Entertainment offers a variety of services which includes artist management, consulting, video and film production.
Mr. Mackey had the opportunity of representing Hip Hop artist and rapper "Caligula". His first single "Fighter Jet" featuring Wiz Khalifa was produced by multiple Grammy Award winning producer "Danja" who has worked with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Usher, Madonna, Kanye West, Nelly Furtado and others.
LaMar D. Mackey has worked on the big-budget film "The First Purge", which ignited the fire in him to do more and be more in the entertainment space. That is how he also got into writing, film production, directing and producing. LaMar D. Mackey aims to gain many more exciting projects and challenge himself as an actor, director and film producer.
