Ken Lawson (birthname: Kenyatta T. Lawson) is a veteran film and television actor and rapper, starting in 1996 with rap music performances and then with his feature acting debut in writer-director Eric Schwab’s crime drama, The Learning Curve (1999), with Carmine Giovinazzo, Norbert Weisser, and Monet Mazur, followed by a co-starring role in the indie drama, Flossin (2001), with Tyrone Burton, Todd Bridges, and Rae-ven Kelley under Jimmy and Todd Bridges’ co-direction.
Lawson appeared in a supporting role in Warner Bros.’ $34-million-grossing comedy, Malibu’s Most Wanted (2003), with Jamie Kennedy, Taye Diggs, Anthony Anderson, Blair Underwood, Regina Hall, Ryan O’Neal, and Snoop Dogg under John Whitesell’s direction.
Lawson appeared in the ensemble of director-producer Michael Taliferro’s final feature, Steppin: The Movie (2009), with Wesley Jonathan, Chrystee Pharris, Anthony Anderson, and Mo’Nique, and which was distributed by The Weinstein Company. Lawson was then cast in the drama, Benjamin Troubles (2015), directed by Kai Ephron, written by Lee Ross, and starring Manu Intiraymi.
Ken Lawson co-starred in the sci-fi thriller, Lumina (2024), with Rupert Lazarus and Eric Roberts, and was directed, written, and produced by Gino J.H. McKoy.
