Jonathan Entwistle is best known as the British-born creator of two Netflix series. I Am Not Okay With This (2020) and The End of the F***ing World (2017), and was previously director/writer of several short films since 2009, as well as music videos and mini-series such as Vanity Fear (2018).
Entwistle then stepped up to feature filmmaking with as director of the highly anticipated sequel and the sixth film in the franchise and the first made since the 2018 death of original producer Jerry Weintraub, Karate Kid: Legends (2025), starring Jackie Chan, Ben Wang, Ralph Baccio, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley and Ming-Na Wen, produced by Columbia Pictures/Sunswept Entertainment and released wide by Sony Pictures Releasing.
Jonathan Entwistle was born and raised in Manchester, England, by his parents. Entwistle graduated from the Chelsea School of Art and then attended the London Film School, from which he graduated with a filmmaking degree.
