James Madigan
James Madigan is a veteran of 30 years in movie and television production as a visual effects supervisor and second unit director who stepped up to the director’s chair for the airborne action comedy, Fight or Flight (2025), starring Josh Hartnett, Charithra Chandran, Marko Zaror and Katee Sackhoff, and which was co-written by Brooks McLaren and D.J. Cotrona, and released by Vertical (U.S) and Sky Cinema (U.K.).
Madigan has been a second unit director—as well as a visual effects consultant--on a range of action movies including the Jon M. Chu-directed G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013); the Dean Parisot-directed RED 2 (2013) and Bill and Ted Face the Music (2020); director Robert Schwentke’s action movie Insurgent (2015); and was also a second unit director on the Parisot-directed movies Allegiant (2016) and Snake Eyes (2021); The Meg (2018); and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023).
