David Henrie (birthname: David Clayton Henrie) is an actor-turned-filmmaker who began his acting career at 13 years old and was best known by audiences for his recurring role on Disney’s teen fantasy sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012) but then began his filmmaking life with his short film Catch (2014).
Henrie co-wrote and directed his feature debut with the teen comedy-drama This Is the Year (2020), co-starring his brother Lorenzo James Henrie, Vanessa Marano, and Jeff Garlin, executive produced by Selena Gomez and released by Vertical Entertainment. Henrie was the director-executive producer of the coming-of-age monster movie Monster Summer (2024), co-starring Mel Gibson, Lorraine Bracco, Nora Zehetner, Kevin James, and Noah Cottrell, and released wide by Pastime Pictures.
Henrie has had more than two decades as actor, including in the following big-screen (mostly supporting) movies: Arizona Summer (2004), with Lee Majors and Morgan Fairchild; the English dub version of the Hayao Miyazaki-written animated film The Secret World of Arriety (2010), in which Henrie joined fellow voice castmates Saoirse Ronan, Tom Holland, Olivia Colman, Mark Strong and Phyllida Law; the Adam Sandler comedy Grown Ups 2 (2013), with Chris Rock, Kevin James and David Spade; the Kevin James comedy sequel Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015); Little Boy (2015); the biopic Walt Before Disney (2015); the drama Cardboard Boxer (2016); and as a younger Ronald Reagan in the biopic Reagan (2024), starring Dennis Quaid.
David Henrie was born in Mission Viejo, California, and was raised in Mission Viejo and Phoenix, Arizona by his parents Linda (talent manager) and James (producer, former real estate agent). Henrie has a younger brother, Lorenzo (actor-producer). Henrie has been married to Maria Cahill since 2017; the couple has three children, including daughter Pia. Henrie’s height is 5’ 10 ½”.
