Dan Trachtenberg (birthname: Daniel Trachtenberg), as director, writer, and producer, is a specialist in the sci-fi horror hybrid genre and is known for his theatrical and streaming movies in the Predator franchise. Trachtenberg had previously made three short films between 2003 and 2012 when he made his feature theatrical debut as director of the sci-fi horror movie and the second movie in the Cloverfield franchise, 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016), co-starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr., co-written by Damien Chazelle, Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken and produced by J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber, and grossing a strong $110 million worldwide for Paramount Pictures.
Trachtenberg was director/story co-writer (with screenwriter Patrick Aison)/producer of the Predator franchise’s seventh entry, Predator: Badlands (2025), co-starring Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, and released wide by 20th Century Studios.
