Chase Stokes (birthname: James Alexander Chase Stokes) may be best known for his recurring roles in TV shows Stranger Things (2016), Outer Banks (2020), and Uglies (2024), but he has had a feature film career which began when he landed his first feature role in the indie comedy-drama, Between Waves (2018), co-directed by Joe and Peter Herbert and with Faust Checho, Andy Ahrens and Ben Cain.
Stokes co-starred in director/writer Yaniv Raz’s comedy-drama, Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets (2021), based on Evan Roskos’ novel, and with Lucas Jade Zumann, Taylor Russell, Lisa Edelstein, David Arquette, and Jason Isaacs, and released by Relativity Media.
Stokes co-starred with Lana Condor in director/co-writer/producer Steve Barnett’s military thriller, Valiant One (2025), which was released wide by Briarcliff Entertainment. Stokes then co-starred with Sydney Taylor in the drama, Marked Men (2025), co-starring Alexander Ludwig under Nick Cassavetes’ direction, and produced by Voltage Pictures.
Chase Stokes was born in Annapolis, Maryland, and was raised in Annapolis, Atlanta, and Orlando, Florida, by parents Jeff and Jennifer Stokes. Stokes has two siblings, Kaden and Kendall. His parents divorced when he was four years old; Stokes lived with his mother and attended and graduated from Timber Creek High School in Orlando. Stokes attended and graduated from Valencia College with a B.A., followed by studies at the University of Central Floria and Seminole State College. Stokes was in a relationship with his Outer Banks co-star Madelyn Cline from 2020 to 2021. Stokes has been in a relationship with country singer Kelsea Ballerini since 2023, Stokes’s height is 6’ 1”.
