Allison Williams (birthname: Allison Howell Williams) is an actor who has made the jump from YouTube performances to the big screen. After six years of guest spots in episodic TV, as well as the lead role in the Judd Apatow-produced Girls (2012-2017), Williams landed her first feature role in Jordan Peele’s smash debut, Get Out (2017), in which she played Daniel Kaluuya’s white girlfriend opposite Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, and Catherine Keener, with Peele winning the Best Screenplay Oscar (among three other major nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director), and earning over $255 million worldwide.
Williams had her first starring role in writer-producer-director Richard Shepard’s psychological horror movie, The Perfection (2018), co-starring Logan Browning, Steven Weber, and Alaina Huffman, and premiering at Fantastic Fest. Allison Williams starred next, opposite German actor Alexander Draymon, in the Swedish-made thriller, Horizon Line (2020), directed by Mikael Marcimain and released and produced by Sweden’s venerable SF Studios.
Williams’ major commercial breakthrough (as lead and executive producer) arrived with M3GAN (2023), the smash sci-fi horror movie directed by Gerard Johnstone and written by Akela Cooper, grossing globally a projected $200+ million. Williams continued the M3GAN bandwagon with the sequel, M3GAN 2.0 (2025), as both star and producer.
Born and raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, Allison Williams is the daughter of former NBC News anchorman Brian Williams and TV producer Jane Gillian Stoddard. Williams has one younger brother, Doug. Her schooling included studies at New Canaan Country School and Greenwich Academy.
Williams graduated from Yale University in 2010 with a degree in English; at Yale, Williams was a member of the improv comedy group, Just Add Water and performed in the YouTube series, “College Musical.” Williams was married to Ricky Van Veen from 2015 to 2019, when she was separated, leading to divorce. In late 2022, Williams was engaged to German actor Alexander Dreymon, with whom she began a relationship in 2019; the couple had a son in late 2021. Her height is 5’ 5 3/4 ”.
