Alex Parkinson (birthname: Alexander Parkinson) is a veteran documentarian of nature, working extensively in television, including the Emmy-nominated Lucy, the Human Chimp (2021), produced by Channel Four, and then debuting in feature-length cinema with the documentary, Last Breath (2019), which Parkinson wrote and co-directed (with Richard da Costa).
Parkinson was director/co-writer (with Mitchell LaFortune and co-producer David Brooks) of the dramatized feature version of his documentary, also titled Last Breath (2025), starring Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu, Finn Cole, and Cliff Curtis, and released in various territories by Focus Features/Entertainment Film Distributors/FilmNation Entertainment.
