Odessa A’zion (birthname: Odessa Zion Segall Adlon) is an American actor of mixed German and American heritage whose debut was in director/writer Josh Stolberg’s indie comedy drama, Conception (2011), with Pamela Adlon (Odessa’s mother), David Arquette, Alan Tudyk, Jennifer Jostyn, Jonathan Silverman, and Jennifer Finnigan, released by Tribeca Film. A’zion (whose credit name at the time was her birth name, Odessa Adlon) had her first significant co-starring role in director/co-writer/producer Amanda Kramer’s adaptation of William Golding’s 1954 novel, Lord of the Flies titled Ladyworld (2018), co-starring Ariela Barer, Annalise Basso, Ryan Simpkins and Maya Hawke, launching at Fantastic Fest and distributed by Cleopatra Entertainment.
A'zion had her first role with her current credit name in the high school comedy, Supercool (2021), with Jake Short, Miles J. Harvey, Madison Davenport, Iliza Shlesinger and Damon Wayans Jr. under Teppo Airaksinen’s direction, and released in the U.S. by Vertical Entertainment, which also released the next comedy co-starring A’zion, director/writer/producer Hannah Marks’s Mark, Mary & Some Other People (2021), co-starring Ben Rosenfield and Hayley Law, and premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. A’zion joined the cast of director/writer Sarah Elizabeth Mintz’s feature version of her 2017 short film, Good Girl Jane (2022), co-starring Rain Spencer and Andie MacDowell. After premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, it was released by Tribeca Film, the distributor.
Odessa A’zion’s first starring role in a theatrical feature was the Lizzie Borden-themed horror movie, The Inhabitant (2022), with Leslie Bibb, Dermot Mulroney and Lizze Broadway under Jerren Lauder’s direction, and which received a limited release by Lionsgate/Gravitas Ventures, and then A’zion co-starred with Emily Bader in director/writer/producer/co-star Jennifer Esposito’s debut feature, Fresh Kills (2023), with Domenick Lombardozzi, Nicholas Cirillo and Annabella Sciorra, premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival and released in limited pattern by Quiver Distribution. A’zion had a leading role in her first studio movie, Screen Gems’ and PlayStation Productions’ movie version of the PlayStation game, Until Dawn (2025), directed and produced by David F. Sandberg, co-starring Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, and Peter Stormare, and delivering a $54 million gross for Screen Gems/Sony Pictures Releasing.
A’zion then came on board the cast of screenwriters Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski’s film adaptation of Jordan Harper’s 2017 crime novel, She Rides Shotgun (2025), starring Taron Egerton (who also produced), Ana Sophia Heger, Rob Yang, and John Carroll Lynch under Nick Rowland’s direction and released by Lionsgate in a limited pattern. A’zion received acclaim for her lead performance in director/writer/producer Sam Hayes’s indie drama, Pools (2025), with Ariel Winter, Tyler Alvarez, Michael Vlamis, Francesca Noel, and Suzanne Cryer, and which received a release by Utopia after launching at the Toronto Film Festival’s Next Wave Festival.
Odessa A’zion landed her first role in a major release opposite star Timothée Chalamet, director/co-writer/producer Josh Safdie’s acclaimed 1950s comedy-drama, Marty Supreme (2025), co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher, Sandra Bernhard, Isaac Mizrahi, George Gervin, Geza Rohrig, Pen Jillette, Pico Iyer, David Mamet, and Philippe Petit, premiering at the New York Film Festival and released by A24. A’zion joined the cast of Rob Riggle, Aaron Holliday, Elizabeth Tulloch, Rebecca Gayheart, and Vinessa Shaw in Nickels (date to be announced), directed by Spencer King and written by Tim Tuchrello, which was produced by 19th Hole Productions/Briarcliff Entertainment/RainMaker Films.
A'zion starred in director/writer James Kimball’s horror movie, For the Night (date to be announced), again with Aaron Holliday as her co-star, with Will Block, Michael Broderick, and Link Ruiz, and which was produced by Anagram Company.
Odessa A’zion was born in Sacramento and raised in Los Angeles, Boston, and Neufahrn, Germany, by her parents, Pamela Adlon (actor) and Felix Adlon (German director). A’zion has a brother, Gideon, and a sister, Valentine. A’zion attended and graduated from Charter High School in Van Nuys, California.
