286 Cabot St, Beverly, MA 01915, USA
The Cabot in Beverly, MA is a historic 1920s movie palace turned vibrant non-profit performing arts center, dedicated to enriching the North Shore community through varied, world-class programming. Originally opened as the Ware Theatre, it was once considered the most impressive auditorium of its size east of New York. Over its century-long history, The Cabot has evolved from a vaudeville and silent movie house to a beloved magic theater, and now into a cultural cornerstone hosting live music, film, comedy, speakers, and community events. Since its nonprofit rebirth in 2014, The Cabot has undergone extensive renovations to restore its original grandeur while modernizing its amenities—achieving ADA compliance, enhancing acoustics and visuals, and expanding access through its new Off Cabot space. With ongoing renovations in 2025, The Cabot remains committed to preserving its architectural legacy while serving as a gathering space that entertains, educates, and inspires generations to come.
