The Amherst Theatre, located at 47 Church Street in Amherst, Nova Scotia, is a historic cinema that has been a cornerstone of the community since its opening in 1947 as the Paramount Theatre. Originally operated by the F.G. Spencer theater chain, it later became part of the Empire Theatres and subsequently Cineplex Entertainment. In 2022, the building was acquired by Casey Realty Ltd. and is currently managed by The Amherst Theatre Ltd. Under the leadership of manager Jamin Melanson, the theater continues to offer a variety of film screenings and community events, maintaining its status as a cherished cultural hub in Cumberland County.
