The Tara Theatre is a 4-screen art house movie theater located in Atlanta, Georgia. The theater specializes in presenting independent films, and is the only theater in Atlanta to do so exclusively.
The Tara Theatre was opened in June 1968 by Loew’s Theatres. It embodied the modernist architecture popular at the time. The Tara was most recently operated by Regal Cinemas but was closed in November 2022 and then later re-opened in May 2023 under local ownership that also owns the nearby historic Plaza Theatre.
