It was built in 1930 in an Art Deco style, a twin to the Paramount Theater in Peekskill, across the Hudson River. It has a seating capacity of 1100 and offers weekly movies, live shows, and cultural events. The theatre is said to have the finest acoustics north of New York’s Carnegie Hall. It was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
