The Paramount Theatre is a movie theater located in Barre, Vermont. It was opened on March 28, 1921, with House Peters in “Lying Lips”. The theater was originally named the Park Theatre and had a seating capacity of 1,000. In 1932, it was renamed the Paramount Theatre and the seating capacity was increased to 1,161. The theater is currently owned by Capitol Showplace, which also owns the Capitol Showplace in Montpelier, Vermont. The Paramount Theatre is known for being a fully digital cinema that features the latest Hollywood blockbusters.
