The Malta Drive-In Theatre is a drive-in movie theater located at 2785 State Route 9 in Malta, New York. It has been in continuous operation since 1949. The theatre is generally open from April through October and is easily identifiable by its large flashing marquee.
The theatre has a policy of not allowing outside food or beverage onto the grounds without purchase of an Outside Food and Beverage Permit. The permit can be purchased at the ticket booth on the way in and entitles the occupants of the vehicle to consume food and beverages that were brought along. The price of an Outside Food and Beverage permit is $7 per vehicle for each evening.
The admission prices for the theatre are $11.00 for adults (age 12 & older) and $6.00 for children (under 12). The movie sound is broadcast in stereo over FM radio and can be heard via your car radio or a portable radio that you bring. Additionally, boom boxes can be rented for $5 in the concession stand (limited availability) and we require surrender of your driver’s license until return of the radio. We do not have any speakers on the posts.
