Cinema Salem is an independent, four-screen movie theater and cultural hub located in the Witch City Mall in historic downtown Salem, Massachusetts. Since opening in 2006, it has become a beloved community space, offering a varied mix of first-run films, cult classics, and vintage gems, as well as live performances ranging from comedy to Shakespeare. After closing in March 2020, the theater reopened in June 2021 under new leadership with a revitalized mission to support film and the arts. With ongoing renovations, accessible screenings, and a growing calendar of events, Cinema Salem continues to serve as Salem’s home for film and creative expression.
