The historic Arlington Theatre is the largest movie theatre in Santa Barbara, built in 1931 and still offering a grand cinematic experience. Originally commissioned by Fox West Coast Theatres, the theatre has since undergone several major renovations and retains its beautifully ornate facade and a lavish interior in its original Spanish Colonial and Mission Revival styles. One if its striking design features is a magnificent ceiling that resembles a starlit sky. The theatre is also home to a 4-manual, 27-rank Robert-Morton organ, one of only five “Wonder Morton” theatre organs to have been built.
Today, the Arlington Theatre presents a diverse array of films including the latest releases, classic movies, and special screenings. With its plush seating and state-of-the-art sound and projection systems, it provides a comfortable and immersive viewing experience. The theater is also host for many special events, including the annual Santa Barbara film festival.
