From The Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence comes The Long Walk (2025), a gripping adaptation of Stephen King’s first novel (written under the Richard Bachman name). It’s one of King’s most relentless stories, now brought to the big screen with chilling precision.
Set in a dystopian America, the Long Walk is a brutal annual contest where 100 teenage boys must keep walking at a steady pace or face fatal consequences. Among them is Ray Garraty (Cooper Hoffman), whose quiet determination hides unexpected strength, and Peter McVries (David Jonsson), a charismatic frontrunner whose growing friendship with Garraty becomes the film’s emotional center. They’re joined by a powerful ensemble cast including Garrett Wareing, Charlie Plummer, Tut Nyuot, Roman Griffin Davis, Ben Wang, Josh Hamilton, Jordan Gonzalez, Mark Hamill, and Judy Greer.
