Desperate to re-discover the mojo he lost as a teenager, a disappointed middle-aged man re-enrolls in high school in order to run for class president again.
Reliving your past to save your future becomes a comedic campaign in RE-ELECTION. As a high school senior in 1995, Jimmy Bauer couldn't deal with losing the race for class president. Spinning out led to dropping out, and eventually Jimmy let every dream he had get as dusty as the "exhibits" in his dad Stan's low-rent Texas memorabilia store. Now a 40-something underdog stuck in a life he didn't plan on, Jimmy (director-writer-producer ADAM SAUNDERS) is stunned to see the guy who beat him for class president, Manish Singh (RIZWAN MANJI, TV's Peacemaker, Schitt's Creek), running for a second term as governor. Looking for a way to course-correct his destiny, especially after Stan (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee TONY DANZA, TV's Taxi and Who's the Boss?) decides his son has to leave the memorabilia store for his own good, Jimmy thinks he sees a path to victory: with assistance from his sister Shawna (PATTY GUGGENHEIM, TV's Twisted Metal) who's now the principal of his old school, Jimmy goes back to earn his missing class credits . . . and win the election he's sure will re-set his trajectory. But after 30 years, things have changed - from social media and gender politics to social norms and class curriculums - yet with the help of his new Gen-Alpha friend Noa (BEX TAYLOR-KLAUS, Dumplin', TV's Arrow) and former classmate-turned-girlfriend Ama (NATHALIE KELLEY, TV's The Vampire Diaries), Jimmy learns that it's not how we start a journey that matters - it's how we finish it. RE-ELECTION is a wry, warm, and witty vote for letting your heart determine your fate.
