Storyline
After returning home to Hawaii for summer break, LUCY (Johnny Sequoyah - DEXTER: NEW BLOOD) is reunited with her father ADAM (Academy Award winner, Troy Kotsur - CODA), sister ERIN and their pet chimpanzee BEN. Lucy and her friends KATE, HANNAH (Jessica Alexander - THE LITTLE MERMAID) and Kate's older brother NICK decide to throw a pool party to take advantage of an empty house after Lucy's father is called away for work. Unbeknownst to them, Ben is bitten by a rabid animal and the gentle chimpanzee they once knew is no more. The group is forced to barricade themselves in the pool, but with no means of calling for help, they must work together to figure out how to outsmart the now ferocious Ben and survive their ordeal.

Primate
This January horror entry is as rock-stupid as its characters, but it delivers plenty of genre jolts.

Fun Facts
For the climactic stand-off director Johannes Roberts bolted a motor-driven, six-sided mirror rig around the camera; as it spins, Ben the chimp and the last teen appear to fracture into multiple selves—all captured in-camera with no CGI, just practical reflections and speed.
Make-up FX brewed a citrus-pectin foam that’s safe for the animal actor but photographs exactly like infected saliva; the concoction bubbles on its own under hot set-lights, so every drool-drip you see is freshly frothed on set [early production b-roll].
