Storyline

Set in the late 19th century, the film tells the true story of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the greatest Greek statesman and the first Governor of Greece after its liberation from the Ottomans. Guided by integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of justice, Kapodistrias dedicates his life to defending the freedom and dignity of his people. In his struggle to rebuild the nation, he sacrifices personal happiness, including the love of his life, and confronts the corruption and hostility of powerful forces. Despite foreseeing his tragic end, he accepts his fate with serenity, giving his life for his homeland.
