Tatsuya Yoshihara, who broke into the Japanese anime industry as a key animator at the young age of 20, is an animator and director best known for his animation direction and animation in various capacities (including key animator) on the TV series Yatterman Night (2015), Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls (2015), Long Riders! (2016), Black Clover (2017), Chainsaw Man (2022), and on Wistoria: Wand and Sword (2024), as director/screenwriter/storyboard artist.
Yoshihara made his feature directorial debut as director of the dark anime fantasy, Chainsaw Man—The Movie: Reze Arc (2025), which was a direct sequel to the 12-episode TV anime series produced by MAPPA, Chainsaw Man (2022), adapted from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s ongoing manga series (launched in 2018) by screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, with lead Japanese voice actors Kikunosuke Toya, Reina Ueda, Fairouz Ai, Tomori Kusunoki and Shogo Sakata, and released wide by Toho (Japan)/Cruchyroll via Sony Pictures Releasing (International).
Tatsuya Yoshihara was born and raised in Japan by his parents. Yoshihara studied animation and graduated from the animation school at the Tokyo anime studio, Actas, and then launched his professional animator career at age 20. Yoshihara is married to animator Kikuko Sadakata.
