R.J. Daniel Hanna is a multi-faceted filmmaker (as a director, writer, producer, and editor) who worked across various media, from television and music videos to feature films, and made his feature directorial debut with Miss Virginia (2019), based on a true story written by Erin O’Connor and starring Uzo Aduba, Matthew Modine, Niles Fitch, Aunjanue Ellis, and Vanessa Williams, and released by Vertical Entertainment. Hanna reunited as a director with star Modine for the sports drama on bicycle racing, Hard Miles (2023), co-written by Hanna (with producer Christian Sander), with Cynthia McWilliams and Sean Astin topping the supporting cast.
Hanna was director/writer and a lead producer on the horror movie, Succubus (date to be announced), starring Ron Perlman, Rosanna Arquette, Rachel Cook, Olivia Grace Applegate, Brendan Bradley, Derek Smith, and Emily Kincaid, and was released theatrically by Shout! Studios.
R.J. Daniel Hanna has also worked as a film editor on many features including Dean Slater: Resident Advisor (2013), Jessica Darling’s It List (2016), Of Dogs and Men (2016) (on which Hanna was also a credited co-writer), What Still Remains (2018), Destined to Ride (2018), Teacher (2019), They Say It Can’t Be Done (2019), What Lies Below (2020), Supercell (2023), with Skeet Ulrich, Anne Heche, and Alec Baldwin; and writer-director Anna Elizabeth James’ mystery-thriller, Blunt (date to be announced), starring Amy Smart and Billy Zane.
